A REScheck report is an analysis of your project's design which documents that your residential building will meet or exceed the energy conservation standards of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) developed by the International Code Council. Each state has adopted some version of the IECC. The REScheck report includes Certificates of Compliance and Compliance Checklists. Most building departments will accept REScheck, however call us just to be sure.

…REScheck…makes it fast and easy for builders, designers, and contractors to determine whether new homes, additions, and alterations meet the requirements of the IECC or a number of state energy codes. REScheck also simplifies compliance determinations for building officials, plan checkers, and inspectors by allowing them to quickly determine if a…residence meets the code.
REScheck is appropriate for insulation and window trade-off calculations in residential detached one- and two-family buildings and multi-family buildings three stories or less in height above grade, such as apartments, condominiums, and townhouses. REScheck works by performing a simple U-factor x Area (UA) calculation for each building assembly to determine the overall UA of a building. The UA that would result from a building conforming to the code requirements is compared against the UA for your building. If the total heat loss (represented as a UA) through the envelope of your building does not exceed the total heat loss from the same building conforming to the code, the software generates a report that declares your building is compliant with the code.

How do I send my information to you?
The easiest way to send your information is by email; simply attach your drawings and send directly to us at service@reschecknow.com. You may also complete and send the Contact Form
on our Contact Page. The preferred file format to use is PDF. Other ways to send your drawings are by fax, overnight carrier or U.S. mail. When we receive your information, we will contact you with a confirmation, quote and turnaround time for your approval.
How long does it take?
Once we receive all your information, REScheck energy reports are usually completed in 1-2 days. During periods of heavy order volume, turnaround may be longer.
What does it cost?

- New homes, remodels, or additions 501-1000 sq. ft. - $200.00
- New homes, remodels, or additions 1001-1500 sq. ft. - $225.00
- New homes, remodels, or additions 1501-2500 sq. ft. - $260.00
- New homes, remodels, or additions 2501-3500 sq. ft. - $290.00
- New homes, remodels, or additions 3501-4500 sq. ft. - $320.00
Homes larger than 4500 sq. ft. are slightly more. Please call for a quote. Homes with unusual design may also be more. If you have a multi-family project, please call

What if my project doesn't pass?
We guarantee your REScheck report will meet your building department's energy report requirements. If it doesn't, we will rush to edit your report and regenerate it at no extra cost. Our goal is to get a passing report for your project.
Will my building department accept the REScheck reports you send?
Yes. The reports are in a standard format that is accepted by cities and counties that accept REScheck throughout the United States. The REScheck Energy Code compliance software is provided by the U.S. Department of Energy.
